Sophie was pretty cool auditioning for the role of Stevie, untill she got to the finla call-back. "i was excited and nervous at the same time, a little bit scared, but i just tried my best. i told my mother that if i got the role, i wanted her to walk to school and tell me. and when she walked into cals in the middle of the day, i knew i had it. i whispered it to some of my friends, we all jumped up and down, then i raced to ring my Dad, it was just so exciting to know i would be coming to Australia for five months and filming a series with horses," she enthused.

"stevie is passinoat about horses and she has unusual fashion style. I love clothes and designs but my style wouldn't be the same as hers. she is quite independent and so am i. STevie is outgoing whereas i am a little shy at first untill i get to know people."
an Interview With Sophie Bennett
Describe the best and worst thing about being back on the set of The Saddle Club. being back in Australia and filming Saddle Club is something i am overwelmed to be able to do. I have made life long friends out here and seeing everyone again made me so happy. there are so many wonderful aspects of being here and doing the show again that i can't quite name them all!! I would have to say seeing my very dear friends again is definitely the best. although being here in this wonderful country that i have learned to love so much is fabulaous. it's really one of the finest placed i have ever been.
How would you describe your character and do you have any major differences to her?
From my eyes I see my character as a young girl who absolutely loves riding and friends. Though thought of as a tomboy, Stevie has a wacky sense of style. Stevie is brave, tough, and courageous. If a challenge comes along, Stevie is willing to try and do it. Often she is the idea maker in the group, though her ideas seem to sometimes be off the planet most of the time. I think that my major difference from Stevie is that I don't tend to be as courageous as her for some things. She hates schoolwork and I on the other hand really feel it's important to work hard at it. I am more into fashion than her, I love clothes and shopping. Though like Stevie I love my friends to death!
Describe your dream horse.
I don't think I could say my dream horse is a certain colour or breed. It's more in the character of the horse which I love. I love a character that I click with, one that I can understand in a way. I love so many horses though.
Give a rundown of a typical day on set.
You get picked up in the morning and it depends on the time for when you get picked up.
When I arrive on set, I go to my trailor and change into the clothes for the scene. Then it's time to go to Hair and Make-up and get ready for the day.
When I am finished in Hair and Make-up I usually go on set and do my scene(s).
When that's over I go home.
Using 3 words, describe the personalities of each of your co-stars. Is there anyone who is the practical joker of the crowd? What jokes do they play?
Lara: Nice, loving, caring.
Keenan: Cuddly, smart and great fun.
Kia: Sensible, sweet, funny and a caring friend.
Heli: Hard working, funny, serious and loves horses..
Explain the bond between yourself and your horse. Do you get on?
In the show, three horses play Belle. With each horse I have a different and unique bond. For example, one of them I really love for his cheeky, loving and unexpected personality.
You sang a song for Saddle Club, what was it like singing, do you have any past experience with singing and is it something you want to do in the future?
I have always loved singing, though never done it professionally before. It was a great opportunity to record the first song, Hello World, two years ago. Since then I have worked with a singing coach not only for the show but just for myself. I really enjoy it and have started writing a bit of my own. Lately we have recorded more songs and I feel since I have had some coaching I am more confident with my voice. It's a great feeling to be confident with yourself and in later years perhaps I would like to record an album but I cannot focus on the future, I'll focus on right now.
What do you hope you'll be doing 10 years from now?
ten years from now I can't really say. I know I would like to be acting, or perhaps do some fashion design. Though whatever the case is, I know for sure I want to be working on something I truly love.
